This is a "No Vacation" tournament!

Please read the description!

  • Rating range 1550-1850
  • All time high must be < 1910
  • No Vacation

I like the musician and artist David Bowie, so in his memory I named the tournament after him. What a creative genius!
Hope you like his songs too, but it is not a requirement to participate!

You will play up to 8 games at a time in this event.

Vacation time is not allowed.

This tournament is designed to create a good competition in the mentioned rating range. The main idea is to have an event where you are as long as possible still in the race for the top 3 spots. This is why we have a group of max. 9 players,  and a narrow range in rating. If you like to show your best against an equal, balanced field and have tough and close matches, this is the place to be!

In the same spirit players have to have at least 100 finished games, so their current rating reflects their ability well.

I want to keep away players who try to manipulate the rating down, so they can play in limited events.

For the very same reason I will remove players from the registration list if their all time high exceeds 1910 or for any other reason when I think a player is too strong for this event.

I hope you enjoy a competitive tournament, have fun and good luck to all the players!

Prize for the second round in David BOWIE Trophy No. 2

BlondeUnderdog | Aug 27, 2017, 6:49 AM

Hello friends,

in the second round there should be two groups with 9 players each. I will award the two winners of the second round a
platinum.png Platinum membership for one month platinum.png !

Why award the winners of the second round a prize?
Simply because more players have a chance to win something, compared to awarding the winners of the last round.

In the unlikely event that the TD is one of the winners, then the prize goes to the second place in my group.

I hope you like this little surprise! tongue.png

Enjoy your games!

Change: Days per move

BlondeUnderdog | Aug 24, 2017, 3:03 PM

Hello friends,

I decided to raise the time limit from 2 to 3 days per move. I hope that this little adjustment is OK for all of you.

If not, you are free to withdraw from the tournament in the next two days.

Thanks for your understanding!

Cheers, BlondeUnderdog
