Ladies and gentlemen!

Here it is: the first live chess tournament that I ever organized!

And here are the official rules!

The tournament will be in Swiss System of 10 Rounds. All rounds will last for one week only, the time set for the games is 10min each game. After the registrations are closed (20 participants) I'll post the matches for the given rounds. I'll be the arbiter and as such all my decisions regarding the tournament are indisputable.

The dates in which the games will be played are to be arranged by the participants themselves. The games must be played during the said week for the respective round or participants will be penalized. Please only register to this tournament if you are really willing to play live chess!

Tournament players must post the date of their games. If possible I'll be online to check if everything goes fine. Other players are welcome to help me and also serve as witnesses.

All participants must add themselves as friends, that will be the only way to play the games live. Participants will enter the "live chess" of chess.com and see their opponents enlisted as "friends" there. They will than challenge them and the winner will post the results and the game (just click on "insert game" link when making your post) on the site of the tournament . As a diamond member I can check all games played, so the tournament will be surely fair.

That's it. If I forgot something, please post it on the tournament's site.

Thank you,

Breno Seifert

3rd round

brenoseifert | Mar 27, 2010, 7:31 PM

Dear chess friends,

Sorry for being absent. I had a hard week and also I didn't see your comments in the tournament's website. I was afraid the programm running the tournament wouldn't be able to handle so many withdraws, but it seems to be working very nice.

There are only 7 participants now and that means we can play less rounds. We are already in the 3rd round, so we only need more 2 or 3 to finish this. I promise there will be no more delays.

If you want to finish the tournament here is the Pairing of Round 3

Pairing of round 3 / Timespan - 28.03.2010 till 07.04.2010

The ranking list after the 3rd round is:

The following player(s) withdrew:

5uhu, gmplada, Daniellix, micsca, ZachEnyart, Eduarlen2009, Ninay, EuniceAjoke, yochessmaster, METAPHORE, kkchess9960, Randomperson1, drtj

If some of these players want to play again, just contact me. You will lose some points but you can still play.

If you don't want to play the tournament anymore, thank you very much for participating, for it was fun and I learned a lot!

Regards,

Breno

Round 2

Dear live chess tournament player,

The game results for round 1 and current tournament standing were already posted at the tournament website. Here comes the pairing for round 2:

round 2

Colors

brenoseifert | Mar 4, 2010, 2:12 PM

Dear Live Chess Tournament players,

I forgot to mention that all players on the left side of the pairing list shall play with white and all players on the right side shall play with black.

As we still are on the first round, there is no problem if you play with the colors reversed, I can reorganize it. But please be advised for the next round to play with the correct colors!

Thank you very much for your patience,

Breno

Withdraws from live chess tournament

brenoseifert | Mar 4, 2010, 1:38 AM

Dear live chess tournament players,

goldfinger withdrew from the tournament and I think EuniceAjoke too as she refuses to talk to me. The tournament continues to the ones who wish to participate, even if I have to reorganize some things.

If you are experiencing problems contacting your opponents please contact me or post your problem in the tournaments website.

Thank you,

Breno
