José Raul Capablanca Graupera (1888-1942) was a Cuban chess player and World Chess Champion from 1921 to 1927. He was a chess prodigy renowned for his exceptional endgame skill.
According to Capablanca, he learned the game at the age of four, when watching the games his father played with friends.
Nairobi Chess Club uses to organize every year the OTB "Capablanca Cup" with great success. This year, the event took place on the weekend Feb, 19th - 20th
The present tournament is its online replication and is open to all chess.com members and especially to our NCC members. There is no restriction because of your daily rating.

Jamhuri is the Swahili word for Republic. In Kenya, Jamhuri Day is celebrated on Dec, 12th.
Nairobi Chess Club uses to organize every year with great success the "Jamhuri Cup" honouring the day Kenya gained self-governance from the United Kingdom.
The tournament "III Jamhuri Cup NCC" will start on 2022, Dec.12th. There is no restriction because of the rating.

New Tournament
Nairobi Chess Club (NCC) is the oldest and more active club in Kenya, having registered on Feb.26th, 1958.
NCC has the pleasure to invite you to the tournament "VI Nairobi Chess Club".
The tournament will start on 2022, Nov.19th. There is no restriction because of the rating.
Players will be distributed in groups of 3 players. The winner in each group will advance to the next round. Time control: 2 days/move.
Any member of chess.com has the chance to register.
