Our inaugural Correspondence Championship, named after CCLA Master and SCC club legend, Jack Carr.

This is a financial members only tournament, which will include a trophy for the winner, to be presented at our awards ceremony at the end of the year. Any incomplete games by end of November will be adjudicated by the committee to determine the result.
Juniors Away
It has been brought to attention that some of our junior competitors are having school camps, affecting their ability to make moves whilst they are away.
Having experimented with settings it seems players can put their account into vacation mode, however the tournament has been set up with no vacation mode allowed and it cannot be edited now it has been started.
This decision was made without such consideration and with concern of finishing all tournament games by November. for perspective, i am still competing in a tournament that commenced in May last year.
With this being our inaugural tournament we will learn a great deal upon completion of the tournament how long it takes to complete, and hope we can possibly adjust in following years to make this better.
In the case of this season, we request all players wherever possible, to assist our juniors in navigating these periods of absenteeism. We see this being achieved in the following ways:
AFFECTED PLAYERS
The best option here is to entrust a parent, guardian, carer or designated trustee to execute pre-arranged moves on your behalf. This can be achieved by advising your assistant of how you want to move in each game. If timed in the most efficient way possible, this should really only require one move per game, given we expect our juniors to be back within 5 days. If a move can be deferred until the last possible moment, it will provide a near 6 day window of time (in worst case scenario presuming the opponent replies instantly, consuming 3 days for current move + 3 days for next move), allowing a day or so buffer and meaning no combinations or lines need to be planned.
If this for whatever reason is not achievable, we recommend the use of conditional moves, in cooperation with your opponent. It is incumbent of you to request such cooperation.
OPPONENTS
Where such cases arise, we seek your support in helping these juniors, by delaying your move as long as possible in these games. You are not required to do this, but anticipate your cooperation here will be apprciated and highly regarded by both our fellow juniors and many of our participants.
Thanking you all in advance.
The Inaugural Jack Carr Correspondence Championship has started!
Hello everyone
Welcome to the inaugural Jack Carr Correspondence Championship!
dedicated to the memory of SCC correspondence champion, Jack Carr.
We just tipped over the maximum players per pool (12) with a total of 13 players (a wonderful problem to have).
Accordingly, the tournament has been randomly divided into 2 pools. The top 3 out of each pool shall progress to the final division.
You should now have commenced games against all players in your pool. When a game is finished, another game should immediately commence, with colors reversed.
There will be prize support for first and second place. Probably third place as well, to be confirmed by the committee. Will advise.
Please ask myself if you are unsure who you are playing, or check in on our members-only page which is private.
Thank you to you all for supporting this event and congratulations on being an inaugural participant. We hope for this event to be the start of something big and lasting for the club. Good luck all and have fun!
