Open to all scholastic members of The Kraken, the online club for K-12 chessplayers in Northwest Washington. Tournament starts on April 1, 2020. Invitations will be sent automatically to all Kraken members periodically, so parents, don't join please.
Making your moves in all games, once a day, is a recommended pattern. You must move within 72 hours (3 days) of your opponent's move, or it's a loss.
Chess.com settings are "Concurrent Games per Opponent: 2" "Group Size: 10" "Advance per Group: 1". So you'll be in groups of 6 to 10 players, placed in whatever group chess.com assigns you, playing two games against everyone else in your group, one with white, one with black. TD reserves the right to modify this setting depending on number of players entered. If we have over 10 players, the winner of each group will place a match for the title.
Prizes include: 1) Custom Kraken virtual medals to 1st, 2nd, 3rd 2) Free fun 3) Daily connection with local chessplayers 4) Increased chess skill from activating your chess neurons daily 5) Tales of unbridled glory and ignominious defeat that you can retell to your grandchildren.
If you haven't already, please put an image by your name -- don't leave the boring gray pawn there. Books and online information can be used to select opening moves. Computers (computer "engines") are prohibited in all normal chess.com daily chess tournaments. So don't use a computer to help you select a move. If chess.com detects computer engine assistance, you'll be disqualified, no appeal.

Deep Dive II Has Begun!
Hey folks, sorry for the late start! Had it set for auto-start, but it didn't. Have fun, and remember to make a move at least once every three days, if not more often. Three custom medals up for grabs. -Randy (MooseMouse)
