The concept of this tournament series is to produce competitions for players who are veritably rated below 1275. After having a couple of good runs, I've decided to make this a monthly event scheduled for the 15th of each month. (here is the link to the November edition)
For the October 2014 edition, there is a 40% advance rate with medium groups (5(2)->2)and so you'll begin with 8 simultaneous games (double games). The time control is 48 hours per move. Only players with more than 100 games, less than an average of 6 hours per move, and less than a 4% time-out rate may join. This is also a premium-member only tournament and there is no vacation time. I think that these rules work to improve the tournament and I'm starting to see a familiar names in each edition, which is nice.
This tournament scheduled to begin at midnight, chess.com time (Pacific US time, GMT-8) on October 15, 2014.
There is no autostart in this tournament and it will not start earlier than the appointed time on 15.October.
I'll remove players who look like they are "gaming" their score or whose score exceeds 1300. If your rating gets above 1275--nice work(!)--you're welcome to join the equivalent tournament for the appropriate ratings range. Here is the link.
Good luck and enjoy the games!
[edit: I've revised the policy slightly - I'm removing players whose score exceeds 1300 at any point prior to the start; this makes time for others to fill the spot].
