No time for chess!

mikenz7 | Apr 8, 2012, 10:01 AM

To my friends and most worthy opponents,

My life has reached a wonderful crossroads and I am forced to make a decision about my commitment to chess and the time I spend playing and managing groups at chess.com.

Many of you are aware of the book on cancer prevention that I have been writing. It is now published and my time is being swallowed up with promotion and marketing work. At the same time my wife has launched a completely new business as well and my web creation side seems to working ‘double time’.

Life is wonderful, I am 65 years old this month, just celebrated 40 years of marriage, published a book and am having a marvelous time spreading the word about my wife’s new business.

Only problem - simply no room for chess. The decision that I feel I must make includes withdrawing from admin at ChessOceania. I have taken so much vacation during the last ten weeks that I cannot any longer continue in clear conscience with my games. I will ask my present opponents that where we have even games and you are generous enough to offer me a draw I will accept it with gratefulness. If after my next move you continue with the game I will resign it and hold no ill feeling. You have every right to the victory!

I will continue to manage the group Cancer Free by 2023, but will not be taking on any new games in the foreseeable future.

To view information about my book, to subscribe to my cancer prevention newsletter - or to purchase the book, ‘A Cancer SOS’ go to www.acancersos.com.

Still working on the online payment side of that.

To catch up with what Margaret is doing go to www.shapenz.com. If you live in NZ or Australia, and could afford to lose some weight, contact her. The program really works!

So many thanks to all my friends. My personal email is cancerprevention@inspire.net.nz.
I will love to keep in contact and will always make time to reply to your news.

With appreciation for you and affection for chess,
