This is a "No Vacation" tournament!
The Rat Opening, despite its unusual name, is one of the best openings for black. In our effort to add and strengthen openings the Rat Opening fits right in. It is a great counter to the English opening by white. And conversely, the English opening is played by many GM's. If you like the English opening, you must be familiar with the Rat Opening.
This is for players rated 1400 and under. Another tournament called the big dogs is going to be for 1400 to 2200. Although if you would like to try and "run with the big dogs" it will be open to 1200 and above.
