Ruy Lopez - 5 Day Time Control
I changed the time control and expanded the ratings range in both directions for this tournament. This should allow more people to participate and provide challenge at every level.
To improve, you need to play high quality games with players that are better than you. You also can’t be rushed to do your best, so I responded to requests to make this a more relaxed tournament.
I hope some really good players camp on because the average player wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to play people at this level. It’s like a chess lesson! Whether you win or lose, you always WIN if you learn something or make a good friend.
