Get practice playing the Slav, from both sides. 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 is a major opening played by many great players. Typical play for White often continues with 3.Nf3 (the modern line), 3.Nc3 (the Winower counter gambit), 3.cxd5 cxd5 (the exchange variation), or even sometimes with 3.e3.
If you play the Caro-Kann (1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5) or even the Scandinavian (1.e4 d5 2.exd5) as black, the Slav makes a perfect addition to your repertoire, as it can lead to very similar positions.
This is a 1 round tournament, played as a 12 person double round robin, with a max of 2 days per move. You will take on all 11 opponents, once as white and once as black, with the top performer taking the trophy. Open to players of any rating with a history of moving at least once every 12 hours.
First come, first served, and when we have twelve players, we start.
Tournament Complete!
Thanks, everyone, for participating! And Congrats to our winner, Stene!
