Remembrance Day of the Victims of Vukovar
For almost three months, in the autumn of 1991, Vukovar and its defenders resisted the brutal aggression of the then JNA and Serbian paramilitary units. Less than two thousand defenders, Vukovar citizens and volunteers from all over Croatia managed to resist the attacks of about 30 thousand members of the aggressor units. The night of November 17-18 was the last they spent in freedom.
