Hi my friends,
I've decided to stage another series of "Great Battles Of History" as these tourneys seem particularly popular and give you a little history fact:-
Battle of Dobrynichi 21 January 1605 – Pretender to the Russian throne defeated, but escapes.
So this is the 5th in the series and the format is; 100 mighty players rated 1501-1605,4 players/group,3 days/move,2 concurrent games/opponent,2 to advance from each group, unless there are ties and then ALL tied players will advance to the next round, and is "NO VACATION".
Any players over 1605 AT THE START OF THE TOURNEY will be removed and, whenever possible, will be invited to the appropriate tourney for their new rating.
I'll start this tourney on sat 16/5/15 or if we get 100 ELIGIBLE players, whichever is the sooner.
Please enter, try your best, but, most of all, have lots of enjoyment and fun from playing your chess games!
