The Winawer Counter Gambit holds as a surprise weapon in case white plays 3.Nc3 in the Slav Defense.
If you want a seldom played interesting answer to 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nc3 the move 3... e5 looks like an interesting option. Jonny Hector (6,5 out of 14), Predrag Nikolic (5 out of 12), Alexander Shabalov (6 out of 9) have used it sometimes.
Looking at those names and results it seems to be playable, but not an easy way to handle the Slav with black. This little training tournament is set to find players in a medium+ range to learn more about the gambit.
