Why I Changed My Flag

You may have noticed that I no longer fly the American flag. I have decided to remove the flag because I have read that the President of the United States has decided that it is ok for the US gov to execute American citizens without trial. In this modern age all he has to do is send a drone or heliocopter or whatever to whereever they think this person is and shoot him down. Now I know that I am a mere mortal, an insignificant dot in the scheme of a vast universe and there is nothing I can ever do to alter the decrees of the high and mighty. But I can separate myself from them in order to protest the terrible things they are doing in the world.

yes, though he blamed his need for all his powers on the Jews, and by saying that the people who won world war 1 were destroying Germany so he needed supreme powers to restore germany to its proper place, so he used the menace of the Allies, and hatred for the jews to become dictator; whereas, in America, our government is using the threat of terrorists.  Using fear and hatred have always been powerful motivators that governments have used to gain more and more power over their people!

I want to thank all of you for your support. I find it absolutely reprehensible that any man should have the power to take another person's life, whether he be an American citizen or not. America does have the right to defend itself from terrorists but not to itself become a terrorist state. Obama promised to release the prisoners in Guantamano who are being held without so much as a fair hearing and he has not. The way the law stands now anyone can be arrested, imprisoned and executed without trial even though we are supposed to be protected by the Constitution. Is this how Hitler got started?

Don't sell yourself so short. You can at least TRY to alter the decrees of the high and mighty, that's about all most of us can do.

It is sad that the president has that power to be able to just say, that American is a terrorist, kill him, and the military can go in and kill him, without the American having any due process of a fair trial, which is the American's constitutional right, which is to be presumed innocent, and to be given a fair and open trial.  It is sad that the president has this dictatorial power, and that he signed the 2011 National Defense Appropriation Act, which gave him this power, on New Years Eve night 2011, when no one was paying attention, after he had stated repeatedly that he would not sign it  into law due to that provision.  It is sad that both Republicans and Democrats passed that provision through congress, and that it was John McCain who was one of the authors of that provision.  It reminds me of a king or emperor's power to say off with the head, and then the military goes off and finds the person and kills him.

I applaud your decision to stand by your convictions.  The President does not reflect the morals and will of all the citizens of the U.S.A. and I am sure you know that.  It is a sad day to look upon a nation that is crumbling right before our eyes.  More than ever America needs a President that will lead her, not one that "leads" from behind.  A lack of executive experience and an agenda that strips America of all she once was has left her bankrupt, both financially and morally.
