Dude, Where’s my Caro? Chess.com vs the World Open Day 4
After 4 days of grueling chess, the Chess.com Team faced its first casualty. Please honor Patzer24 of the Malicious Matt’s who passed on to tournament heaven after a stirring victory over a 2350 opponent. His ghost was seen several times haunting the bughouse boards :D
For the remainder of the team, we had some mixed results as evidenced by this post match photo:

The grinning Kirkwood, the sole remaining member of the proud company of Malicious Matt’s, pounced on his opponent’s Caro like herd of cats chasing lights in a discoteca. When his furry fury was spent, his opponent was mated and humming Gloria Gaynor.
Sam Copeland was back, fast and furious in a French. More Napoleon than Maginot Line, he grabbed a pawn, stuffed his opponent’s compensation like Dikembe Mutombo, and sent some past pawns to the promised land.
Stay tuned for the penultimate round tomorrow and take a gander at Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3 of Chess.com's epic showdown with the World Open!!!
