New open source chess game viewer - pacaq

Sort:
pacaq

Pacaq is a chess game visualising and analysis tool that can load Portable Game Notation (PGN) files and then show and animate recorded games move by move. Pacaq handles fine any recursive annotation variations recorded in the game file.

Pacaq doesn't have a chess engine or chess client, but is simply a tool to play back recorded games. It is still in development phase, but there is a release that can be used for trying it out. At the moment, pacaq works on Windows and Linux computers and on Nokia Internet Tablets that have Qt libraries installed (see  Maemo Qt4). Since pacaq is developed using Qt, the source code should be buildable on Mac OSX and on practically any system that can support Qt.

Pacaq homepage has more information about the tool and it can be downloaded from the SourceForge.net download page. For Windows computers, you can simply download the windows package and extract the executable file where you like to get in running - there is no installer implemented yet. If you want to give it a test and share your any improvement ideas with us - or even join us in developing pacaq - please go ahead.

Regards,
the pacaq team
