Different openings depending on time control?

Do you use a different opening depending on the time controls for a game?  Or do you normally use the same opening for an OTB game in 25 minutes that you would use in a 60-90+ minute game?  (or take non-OTB live/blitz game vs an online/correspondence game)

What are the advantages (if any) to varying your opening in response to the time control used?

I think with less time, the openings also dumb down. You can see this to the extreme in bullet where people are playing hippo's or 3 row systems. With less time, you won't be milking a complex strategical advantage. One mistake, and it gets blown up.

Personally, I've had the best results with the openings I've known for a very long time. I could find reasonable moves no matter what. When I'm not comfortable playing, I can also return to my early openings.

The advantage is, if you don't need to worry about the opening or the strategy, you can focus on keeping your pieces alive.

Yes, I would be the same. Openings not varying, but play middle game differently. More loose and initive based the shorter the time control. Only exception would be extreme short games, like bullet, where would play openings with short moves Smile.
