In the Nimzowitsch defense, in answer to whites 2.nf3, is f5 a good reply? I heard from some masters that it helps you to be creative. Is f5 worth exposing king?

some books on the nimzo defense suggest 2...d6 followed by Nf6 and g6 transposing to a classical pirc when black has avoided the most testing lines such as the 150 attack, the austrian attack and the 4 Bg5 line. If you're looking for a safe and sound game, then this is probably the better option, since black really has to prove something in the 2...f5 lines.

thanks, f5 seems like a blunder. why anyone would recommend it on the basis of creativity?

I think it's your best chance at getting an interesting opening phase out of the Nimzowitsch.  If your opponent dives for the weakened kingside and you're prepared, you might get a good game out of it.  If your opponent takes what you give him and exploits the kingside weakness for the longterm, you'll be in for a tough game.

The colorado gambit is horrible...I know its not a real gambit but I don't know why black would want to play a worse position out of the opening.
