What is the best continuation for this line of the king pawn game

I am playing against a computer and I started out with the king pawn game so I could use the Ruy Lopez opening. But black played Nf6. After a quick google search I found that this is the Alekhine's Defence. Following the line I found on a different post on these forums, I played e5 which got me into this position. Now I am looking at a fork and I will have to move my king. How do I proceed? Qe4 or Qf5 maybe? I am pretty new to chess and I have no idea what the best move would be in the long run.

That pawn is only defended by the king so by forcing the king out, black might be able use that to its advantage. Still though I'll do as you say. Thanks for helping out

Black has no pieces developed, so sacrificing a piece would not be good.

In this situation would it be a good idea to fork the knights? I come out on top in terms of material but I still lose the game. Probably because I have nothing in the center.

Aeleon

No, I know white comes out on top but that leaves the center unprotected and black quickly takes over. Maybe it's just me. I am probably not developing my pieces correctly. I'll keep trying to figure this out

Thank you for the much needed words of encouragement. I managed to beat the computer.

Good job!

According to Nunn, the following is the refutation of 2...Ne4?

I think ...f6 gets played somewhere in those positions.

Titan, I covered f6.

No, chessmicky. I have a friend who once got a winning position against Mikhail Tal out of the Alekhine! (He ended up losing, but still!) We analysed 2...Ne4 for fun. There are quite a few ways for White to go wrong, especially in blitz. It's not as easy to play against as you may think.
