DRAWS

Sort:
cablecar

I had about 90 seconds left and continually checked my opponent while my clock was winding down.  The game was clearly drawn, but my opponent  continued strictly on the basis of running me out of time.  Eventually a draw resulted, but my opponent probably made a move which formed the repeated 3 position requirement for a draw.  At no time did my opponent move anything but his king, and I was checking at the rate of about once per second.

Is there any way to deal with an approach for a win in this manner? Is there a way for me to force the draw.

Seems like some sort of adjudication should be available,  is it?

@SENIOR BLUNDER I think you need to claim a draw for repetition of moves. I think there's a button somewhere to to do it. I know it won't automatically award the draw

Thanks for the help. Can a repetition of the same position occur over a period of several moves; if so, then it would be easy to miss the third if spread out, so I guess you should press the draw button every time you move, that is, if you want the draw and suspect that the same position has occurred in the past moves.
