Chess.com Feature Requests and Wishlist #3

Blogging improvements -
- Allow you to set in the board options whether "Move List" is open by default. New users often have trouble finding the button so if I have alot of variations I would probably just set it to start opened.
- Provide better tools to control who can view a blog entry. Sometimes I may want a limited number of people to 'test' a lesson before it goes 'live'.
- Once you've created a table it's sometimes difficult to delete it or add more rows or columns (backspace/delete doesn't work, #row/#cols greyed). I always find a workaround but it takes time that I could be using more productively.

Homepage improvement -
- When tracked activity is updated, make it more obvious what has been updated under 'My Tracked Activity' with highlighting of the updated row.

An "Endings" section within the "Learn" Tab.
Also allowing some chess variants, such as Fischer Random.

This is impressive and exciting feedback. I look forward to these trickling into active usage, as time and resources afford it. Thanks for the update.

Erik - I think that the list you have is a good one and think ya'll are doing just fine. Keep up the good work!

Ability to stay on current game after voting in votechess. I dont think this is possible atm.
Ability to track comments left in tactics trainer/articles/blogs/news items etc for example, some sort of 'Other posts I have made' section, perhaps with checkboxes for sections to be included.
Better control over emails/notifications. I might want notifications for lots of things, but only emails for games for example.
Perhaps better access to groups. For example either a menu or fly-out submenu for the groups you are a member of so you dont have to go to the page with the list of your groups on.
Perhaps a 'report abuse' link in livechess and some greater clarity on the form for example currently "username" is ambiguous, although I assume it must mean mine. I might end up reporting myself! I found this slightly confusing, since I would assume the system would track who is sending the form. Very minor, just I think it should be as easy as possible to report the little brats you occasionally find.

Erik,
I am very interested in the 2nd and the 3rd items.
Do you have any projections on how Teams & Leagues to play?
Also, can you control the Team vs Team Vote Chess to allow only the team members to register? How about the people who joined multiple groups?
I would add more in depth search functions in Games Exploer. For example after arriving at a position have an edit filter buttom and from that position you could filter games by player years, elo etc. And stardard nontimed rated games in the tactics trainer.
Wom Im impressed by your list though Erik. Pretty darn detailed!

I second that.

A satellite driven target acquisition system, similar to Google earth, but in real time, with an I.C.B.M. on the ready, to get at those that may annoy. Available to gold and above members of course.

A "go to next ready game" link, like in all game screens, on the screen you get to after you've awarded a trophy to someone. Right now you have to go back to your online chess and then click on the game. Just thought I'd mention it, it's on all game pages, but just not there ;)
I'm fairly sure what you're after allready exists. By your username in the topright corner of the screen, there will be a small pawn icon if it's your turn in any game. Clicking on it brings you to the game.
Now then, while I'm here I'd like to suggest some chess varients. Love 'em, can't get enough of 'em, dream of 'em, etc :-)

Delay clocks for live chess to simulate OTB conditions in the United States. That would make this the only chess site on the Internet where you could. :)

yay!!! Im going to love to use 8 and 22! you could have an endgame game!!!!thank you! will it be premium member only?
This is a pretty minor irritant, but could you make it possible to delete games from your game archive? It's really annoying to try to search through games when half of them are only a few moves long and are just in the way.
Chess variants sound pretty cool, too. :D

That would be convenient
We have digested all of the past suggestions and added things to the to-do list. Here are the main ones:
Please don't re-suggest these ones above :) And please know that while there are many great ideas, we can't always get to them right away. We have to balance the benefits with the costs, and we have limited resources to do these projects.
Thank you for your suggestions - this is where the best ideas come from!
