Chess.com ladder

Have the admins thought about a chess.com ladder?

what do you mean?

Start with an initial ranking of players, then let every other player challenge the next player up.  Winners continue to challenge up, while losers get challenged from below.  If the game is drawn, the players would remain in their places.  Could be a bit like the European Soccer leagues with a Premier division and a number of lower divisions.  Perhaps 10 player divisions in round robin format, tie breaks, etc... Bottom three are relegated while the top three are elevated.

Perhaps not a true ladder, but might be interesting.

I know there are a lot of features you're currently working on, but I wanted to ask if you have a deadline to implement this ladder/pyramid feature.

I love this site, the interface and the atmosphere, but I think it lacks of this exciting kind of league. This pushes me playing ladders in other sites I don't like (and which I'm not subscriber of), and I'd love Chess.com to have it.

Ladder system for individual players would be a great new feature. More systematic ladder system for teams also worth considering.

A number of groups operate ladders manually, of course. e.g. GrayMatter Ladder Chess. (Just search groups using the keyword 'ladder'.)

Yes, I know, but you can imagine the lot of work that involves (updating manually the standings, tracking all challenges and results, etc). There are external sites who manage this, but this is just a workaround, of course.

I know the ladder/pyramid is (was) on the wishlist, but I wanted to have and update on the scheduled date for it.

A ladder feature for groups would be great. The problem with groups is that you can spend all your time as a group member interacting with non-members through team matches, so you don't get a sense of group belonging.

I toyed with the idea of writing a chess ladder system in google apps that would be able to integrate a little with chess.com groups, but frankly it would be silly for me to do that when it would be so much easier for chess.com to do it natively.

This thread has been quiet for a long time...has anything been done to add a ladder capability to chess.com?  I like both the ideas presented above:  Divisions/Leagues, and a ladder capability for players in a group.  I'd certainly add this to my group (Silman Fans & Fanatics) if it were available!
