Looking for relayers of live chess events

Sort:
MikeKlein

Chess.com is seeking enthusiastic members who want to be part of the community by relaying moves of live games from the top chess tournaments from all over the world.

Current members who are active on thie site and can be trusted to help during the hours of the event should reply. Specifically, we are seeking about ten members who live in the United States, ten who live in Russia, and ten who live in Asia.

Please let us know if you are available to assist and thank you in advance for making this the number one site to visit for live chess games!

To clarify for everyone, the # of people who can do this is not limited to 10 - nor do you have to live in those locations specifically. Any and all Europeans who'd like to be a part of this project can and should also post their interest here.

The "task/job" would be the enjoyment of relaying games as they are played (like the Alekhine Memorial going on right now that many of you are likely watching) to Chess.com's server so that more members can enjoy them!

Thanks everyone! Let us know if you are interested and we will invite you to our special group Wink

I guess is not too much to ask to make you premium in exchange for this job.

lol sry man, but thats probably the case

@macer75  what's the incentive then for the job?

Basic Members interested in doing this can possibly receive a premium membership in exchange for their work. Assuming they do a good job and take pare actively in relaying games.

Is chess.com paying for the gamees from the legit organizerrs of the tournament or are they just pirating from official websites?

I don't think the games are copyrighted by the organizers of the tournament so you can't share them.

Seriously, man? I deleted your first common because it was accusatory with no grounds, had no place in the conversation thread here, and is being stated purely out of opinion to insight suspicions (again, with no factual data).

Now that you are back, I will say that:

1) Chess.com via it's own "Professional Chess representatives" has had permission to relay the games from every major tournament that it ever has.

2) Any event Chess.com relays will have the permission from the organizers of the event. Why? Because we are courteous and respectful and because it's the right thing to do.

3) And finally, it should be noted that as has been stated already, it would not be outside our legal right to relay games from one of the many live chess relay sites that do exact that: ie, relay games without the permission of the tournament organizers.

Thank you.

Hey everyone, official posts have been made regarding the rewards, the rules and the "how to" of being a Chess.com Live Chess Presenter.

http://www.chess.com/groups/home/live-chess-event-presenters

I will keep the group "open to all" today until we get between 40-50 members. If you join, read, and watch and decide it's not for you, please leave the group.

Thanks!

FYI we have already recevied permission to relay the World Championship and the London Chess Classic among others.

Hi, since the group is allready closed and I have some questions, I'll post them here.

Are you still looking for people to relay?
Since I have heaps of time, but no cash, would that mean that a diamond account would be offered? (if the relaying is done good ofcourse!)
