Meanwhile, when I click on my profile I see an old avatar. Others see it to. When I post a message I see the newer one...

Anyone who says they just see a **** maybe right, but not necessarily in the literal sense.

I see a yodog in your avatar and a waving thing on your posts.

What's the point in a clock that doesn't work? Have one, or don't.

You were going to dump chess.com, what happened?

Please link me to that remark.

I'm not going to look through all your snieveling but your impilcations has been that you are a paying customer and chess.com has to fix it immediately or else.

HessianWarrior

I'm not going to look through all your sniveling. Edit-I changed it for you nit picker.

the thing is about complaining when something ain't working as it should is that you often get accused of being some sort of serial complainer, or made out to be a moan. some have been goaded into leaving as a consequence of the staff leaving as much as they can to other users. There is even one case where a staff member suggested that a paying member should leave, for which i've yet to see an apology. The fact that the post is still in this topic suggests the staff member stands by his comments.

it may be true that many, perhaps even most users have suffered minimal disruption, but there are others who have suffered horrendous difficulties with the changes. It's no surprise some of those people have lost patience, it's more than 2 months now since the changes were made, and from where i'm standing not a lot seems to have improved in that time.

my alerts keeps disappearing btw, and my games list is toggling between grid view and table view

CBA: I'll let the guy who did the avatar code know about that. Certainly seems odd to me.

I first discovered this avatar changing effect on the site many, many, months ago. Managed to resolve this eventually but as requested will keep this secret :)) (Besides this latest trouble may be a ''new'' bug)

bulletheadbilly

I would rather have a hug, than a bug.. now i am travling to a town called truckie, being chased by a sideways cyber ducky

chess_kebabs

Haven't seen the avatar issue for a long time -CTRL R on homepage occasionally fixed the problem

j3oglesby

in chat boxes the cursor used to stay in box after intering text. did it not?

now I have to keep clicking on the text box after entering each message

very irritating

Similar to accidentally clicking on Friend Requests ?? Could do with surety checks.

TheGrobe

Speaking of "accidentally clicking on Friend Requests", I had something like this happen to me a few weeks ago.  I didn't actually click on them (indeed, I wasn't even logged in at the time), but two pending friend requests that I had no intention of accepting suddenly triggered alerts (both on the same night) indicating that the requestors had accepted my friend request.

Bizarre.

bulletheadbilly

That might have been the syndacate doing that grobe

chess_kebabs

Same thing happened to me Grobe the other week - I thought I must have sent a request accidentally. But now I know I didn't.

There's a known issue whereby if you accept someone's friendship request via the iPhone app, then you end up getting the "Friendship Request Accepted" message - as though you had been the "requester" in the first place... but this sounds quite different.

To be clear: You ended up Friends with 1-2 people without ever sending them a request or accepting theirs? This is a bit of a stretch, but do you use the iOS app? Thanks.

chess_kebabs

This could have happened to me Michael, accepted a request on the iPhone.. it was a few weeks ago now so I can't say 100%, but it's very possible.. but I haven't downloaded the IOS app. At least I'm pretty sure I didn't.

TheGrobe

I do use the iOS app, so I suppose it's a possibility... It was two requests at the same time though.
