I think both of you made early mistakes. White should never play Nc3 before c4 since the knight on c3 blocks the c2 pawn from advancing. You can counter the mistake by preparing to play c5, then play Nc6.

Youre too aggressive and you lack focus understand what your trying to do
You look to swap too soon set up first your not allowing your setup to control the board
