You're opponent could have tried 17.Bg7.  That may have given you a bit of a scare.

An amazing game well won, esp' as white seemed to have the early tempo.  A wizard of a game!

3.Bb5 to preserve flexibility even though it can transpose. 7.h3 This move has long term implications and not just putting the point to the Bishop. Having made a huge study of this opening I find the h3 lines to be among the toughest.13.Qd3 because White needs to untangle, it's annoying and forces a rethink. On e5 I always play my Bishop out side of my pawn chain and get a good version of the french. This doesn't mean I have not used f6.(grin) Then of course, I've played the Schleman (f5) (spelling?) in the Ruy Lopez.

Nice idea.  But what would you have done if he had gone to h1 move 27 Kh1, I don't see much better or worse than Rxg5 and you have rook for 2 pawns and a bishop which is fine.  I don't think white was winning after your sac though like you say?  You did well coming back after being squeezed

Well down however you had a move at 36 you should have ignored his check with kd7 then Re7+ kc8 Re8+ kb7 then mate in two no matter what.

Nice, but I think Qe7 is risky... (I'm no grandmaster, just on your level) because of the potential pins to the queen... A risky game.

Definitely a cool game.

In the opening I do not like 1. ... d5 because of 2. ed Qxd5 3. Nc3 allowing development of a piece, forcing move of the queen, develop another piece.  Depending where  your queen goes to it is a magnet to hostile forces.  qd8 is safe, but then you are two pieces behind in development.

Instead of 9. ... a6 you should have developed a piece.

15.  ... Bxd4 allows followed by Rh6 allows 17. Bg7 which threatens mate  and I think allows exchange of B for R.  better to move 16. ... Rh7 to cover g7.  Anyway, if 15. ... uses something like queen to defend pawn on e, you don't move B to its strongest square.

24-33 are really great.  You completely outmaneuvered him!  The queen is pretty much an afterthought.  Sweet.

u cant really put any constructive critism on my 1... d5 as it is my opening and it has produced a lot of success. Plus who says if 2. exd i will play 2... Qxd5 i play 2... Nf6 however ur other comments are great PawnFork Laughing

as for TonightOnly and silentfilmstar13 comments, i dont even know how to access the Game Showcase forum (and i suspect others dont too so nobody will see my post)!!! i put this article in the Game Analysis forum so ppl can comment on what i could of done better so i can improve...

thanks guys, ur comments are great!! Cool
