Queen + Rook vs. Queen endgame
thanks for your suggestions, added them as possible variations (hope you don't mind, otherwise I will immediately remove them).
Now I have to understand them
Nice game. Your only hope in the end was to keep checking the king until (hopefully) a draw was attained after 50 moves with no captures or pawn moves.
I'm pretty sure it was actually drawn towards the end:
Ok, there's my thoughts in rough form. I kept in every possibility I thought of because it's good learning material. It should be drawn I think.

wow, that's some detailed analysis, thanks a lot!
Unfortunately, I realized too late that exchanging Queens and then aiming for a draw is a good plan. I was therefore really annoyed by my blunder because I would have loved to try this...
Nice forum here
Opposition holds true in K+R vs. K+P situations to an extent. To draw it, follow these principles to the best of your ability (sometimes it's an autowin for hte rook.)
1. Don't blockade your own pawn unless you have no other move.
2. Push your pawn whenever possible without suiciding it.
3. Keep the enemy king blocked below your pawn with your own king when posssible.
4. If checked, move your king forward unless he gets out of reach of your pawn if you do so.
Great tips! I probably have the same info in my Silman's Complete Endgame Course, but I haven't gotten that far yet...
You probably don't, since I haven't actually studied this endgame before. Those tips are what I learned from doing this analysis/general principles.
