Exciting Fried Liver Attack

Sort:

Hey all. I played the Fried Liver Attack as white and was attacking the entire game. It was the most analysis I had ever done during a game to find the correct move and not completely blow it... Eventually, I got lucky and my opponent made a slight mistake, pinning his king in the center with no help.

Sorry I don't have any analysis up: I'll try to do it later (if you have any, go ahead and post it).

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Instead of a3 sacrificing the Rook you can play Qe4 which sets up the next stage of the attack against the e-pawn. Something like this:

The point of the Fried Liver Attack is to attack a centralized king and go for mate as quickly as possible. 9. a3 is an aggressive move that opens the e-file for the rook and quickens development. What's the point of having more material if you are going to be checkmated? (plus it's fun!)

And, just because I'm a stickler for these kinds of things, with perfect play by black, black will always when Tongue Out.

e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 Bc4 Nf6 Ng5 d5 exd5 Na5 and this position is totally equal i hate this position as white
