Just keep playing and use tactics trainer and eventually you'll be ranked over 1000 like me.
Slowly climbing my way up the ranks!
If you are interested in getting better I can give you some coaching using chess.com analysis and analyzing your games with you for free.
1.e4 e6 starts the French Defense. 2.f4!? isn't the common move and doesn't help your piece developement. 2..Bc5? 3.d4 grabbing space in the center and helping your pieces develope with tempo. 3.Bb4+? Letting you take even more space. 5.e5!? could of been used to start developing your pieces with something like 5.Nf3 or 5.Nd2 even. You would want to wait a while before making the e5 thrust probably.
It just looks like you need to work on developing your pieces earlier. The king in the center is also something to be pointed out. King safety is a big deal and castling is usually the best thing with few exceptions. Probably by move 10-12 as a rule of thumb if not sooner.
I don't know why they just let your rook sit on d8 and not take it with the king. 17.Qg5+ Rf6 18.exf6+ Kd7 19.Qxg7+ Kc6 20.Rxd8 was better though in my opinion. Hard to see that happening in a 3|0 game like this though. Practically impossible even.
It might be a good idea to play slower games for now too.
I think he let my rook sit there because it would've been an exchange. His rook would have been left hanging and I'd have probably been able to pin him down easier. That's what I was assuming the whole time my rook was sitting there.
Also, ManeuverMaster, I'll take you up on that coaching. I've been looking for a coach for a while, all the higher ranked coaches charge for lessons, though.
He might of thought that but it isn't close to being true. He knew that Bc6 would make things harder just didn't think about taking the rook first ;)
Good job! Full analysis takes too long, so I'll just point out the key moves. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your games on here.
Maybe the 8..Na5 move wasn't the best but that is a crazy good game for a 655. The opening seemed good to me other than Na5. Good game.
hi 2fast7u.
You played some very good games for your rating. If you want to improve you should focus at tactics. Don't worry about your rating or opening theory. On the opening just try to play moves that follow the principles (king safety, piece developement, occupy the center). You shouldn't play too much blitz or bullet if you want to improve your chess. These types of chess are mostly for fun. For real improvement you should play correspondance chess or even better play on local tournaments in your neighbourhood. Always analyse your games after they are finished, if possible along with your oponnent to understand their thought porcess. For the middlegame try to have a concrete plan. As they say it's better to have a bad plan than not having one
I hope I helped. If u have any questions or if I can help somehow please let me know by leaving a note on my wall . Hope I helped you :) Have fun.
Yeah, I'm curious about what you thought about your game on the #14 post and what you think your opponent did wrong, what you could do better, etc..
All right.
2. f4?! (Why not the mainline 2. d4, taking the whole centre?
2... Bc5? (3. d4 comes with tempo, after which you have even more space.)
3... Bb4+? (It was time to play 3... Bb6, hunker down, and fight the White centre. 4. c4 d5 5. Nc3 c5 and Black is still very much alive. With this move the Bb4 puts itself in danger. After 4. c3 the bishop must retreat to e7, otherwise 4... Ba5? 5. b4 Bb6 6. c4 c6 7. c5 Bc7 and Black has problems. White has immense amounts of space, and because of the tempo-eating bishop, Black has been forced to create a hole on d6 to keep it from being trapped.)
I've got a long way to go, but I feel like I'm getting much better. My most recent game against an 800 player.
