I went to the dayton chess club last night and then some people came in we started to talk about chess and i found out he was on this site. We talked for a while and he said that I would be a good match for a man named Bill he has alzheimer disease they said if your paitent with him you will have a good game and in his day he was a very good player. I wait watch a lecture on tactics and then bill comes in and i ask him if he wants to play i was told to slow my play down not the moves but the time i make them. He pulls out of a piece of paper and records our game every move i make i make sure he is paying attention and then i call it out, out loud i blundered once and he did not take it if he would have i would have been a piece down and he very well could have won. we played for a while and we came out excatly the same on material i was sensing a draw coming on and eventually i kept asking for a draw he couldnt hear me eventually he could see a draw was forced i asked once more loudly and he accepted. his condition was very bad but in my mind the best thing for him is chess and i was honored to play him.
