In other endevours there are all-encompasing theories of practice. (Penmanship has the Spencerian method, and Powerlifting has Conjucated Periodization)
Is there an equivilent in chess that deals with learning theory. How to think? How to review games? How to devlop stratagey etc?
Find games of your favorite opening as played by grandmasters, memorize the games, and look for patterns in their play. I had an old chess teacher once who made me do this as I was bound to pick something up through exposure. Worked pretty well.
