Caro Kann produces more interesting games then the French. In the French you may end up with more boring positions ie "Exchange " for example. But thats just my opinion. I gave up on the French because the positions just bored me to death !

Incorrect.  The variation that you posted is so poor for White strategically Black can afford to go in a tempo down and argue equality.  If I were Black after 1.e4 e5 2.c4 I would already be thinking about playing for advantage after 2...Bc5 or 2...Nc6.

I do not agree with your conclusion.  After 5...Bc5 White cannot demonstrate any advantage there.  The c2-c4 is a negative move in your Scotch Game.
