PC= political correctness

John K. Wilson, The Myth of Political Correctness (1995) focuses on higher education, but it does offer some general history that shows how the PC term has no grounding in social and political realities, and that most often those with ascendant power use PC to criticize the views of those whose power has diminished. The term as used by the Framers of the U.S. Constitution concerned whether the term "United States" was singular or plural. It was not politically correct to think of the term as singular.

Goldendog was commenting on Reb's quote: "today's PC environment" where he was talking about political correctness and not personal computers you see.

More and more cheating with less and less shame !  I blame it on today's PC environment and the bogus crap taught to kids these days like "situational ethics " and there is no " right" or "wrong " ...  When I was a young man men cheated on their wives ( some, not all ) but even those who did kept it secret and were probably ashamed of the fact so didnt want people to know...... now it seems some men even brag of their infidelities and its just wink, wink, all round.... Oh, and same goes for the women !  ( dont want to be labeled a sexist afterall ! )

How do personal computers contribute to the degeneration of morals? Easy access to porn?

Goldendog was answering my question. Reb's phrase "today's PC environment" is phrase akin to Santa Claus. Someone puts presents under the tree, but it's not quite who gets credit.

Actually... now that I read my post I'm not sure why I posted that... how funny (??)

Accusations of cheating are at an all-time high, as are the technologies that facilitate unfair assistance. Actual cheating, however, probably not elevated much. Detection methods are keeping pace with cheating innovations leading to a few high profile stories.

Evidently cheating online is far more common than I thought: watch the purge on this site. Over 700 accounts closed in the past 24 hours.

We provide tools to report cheating to our staff. But having several constant and redundant threads on the topic that circulate with the same questions and comments over and over again isn't helpful, and instead causes people to worry more than they need to. If you want to discuss cheating, please do it in this group
