How do the teams on Chess.com work?  Is it worthwhile/fun?  How would I choose a team?  They all seem to say wonderful things about themselves in their descriptions :)

Teams are great! You can join as many as you want, all for free. And you can leave at any time. You can talk to people, and participate in Team Matches and Team Vote Chess. Teams are one of my favourite things on chess.com. I run a couple and are Admin in some others as well. They can help you grow too as a player because you can get advice and interact with high rated players. Some teams even have GM's you can talk to!

Thanks for the response.  Can you recommend one of your teams for me to join?  Now that baseball season is almost over I need to get my brain re-engaged to chess :)  A team might be a good way to stay focused here on chess.com

Yeah definatley! There's alot of great teams on chess.com, so I would have alot of suggestions :) Would you prefer a smallish team or a large one? I'm members of both of these types. There are certain teams that are geared more to Team Matches and Vote Chess and others are more for just talking. Most teams are in the middle. Anyway comment again telling me what type of group you are looking to join and I will give you some suggestions Smile

Some groups are by invite only. They look at your post, if they like what they see, your in.  Like the White House.

Its missing a few squares, but what can you do?

POTATOE !

Putin also has 2 dsbs, so either he's not a very good chess player or he's not playing by the rules. I think the second one is more likely.

Or it might be a subtle comment on bishops in Russia? And, given the significance of the number, the 42-square board might also be intentional.

Illuminati is suspect. ;)

Thanks, livluvrok.  I guess I would prefer a smallish team that focuses on matches and vote chess.  Suggestion?

How embarassing. This makes the cartoonist look like an idiot, rather than his intended characiture.

I wouldn't go that far. It reveals the fact that he doesn't know a whole lot about chess, but I don't think that makes him seem like an idiot. Plus a vast majority of his intended audience probably wouldn't notice.
