2 TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS NEEDED
There are currently two official annual TM Tournaments for team matches. The TM Championships which is run by Daveshack and the TM League which is run by Kokino.
The TM Championships is for groups to enter who are 20-250 members in size and the TM League is for groups to enter who are 250+ in size.
There is a need to create a couple more tournaments as at the moment any group who is, say for example, only 300 members have to compete with groups that have 1000-3000 members. A huge discrepancy there and the smaller groups have no chance or decent competition here.
Kokino and Daveshack have their hands full running the current tournaments they are handling so the search is out for another 2 Tournament Directors to run 2 more tournaments to cater for the medium sized groups, say 250-550 and 550-850 members, just as a possible examples, exact figures to be sorted later.
WHAT REQUIREMENTS ARE NEEDED?
According to Kokino it is recommended to know how to work with .xls tables and spreadsheets but he is sure that anybody could run perfectly a tournament not using them (or with other solutions as Google office or something similar).
What it is really important is to know how to manage groups and how to create tables here at chess.com (using rich text) and perhaps, even more important have a lot of of patience and the time to run the tournament effectively.
If you think you have the skills, time and patience to run an official Team Match Tournament, then please contact kokino to discuss. There is some urgency to finding the right people quickly to be prepared in time to start at the same time as the TM Championships and TM League tournaments as they need to start and finish in close proximity.
