If I were a betting man, I suspect it is Faisal, the iOS developer:

You're not the first person I've seen make this complaint. Must be a bug, possibly left over from unit testing.

Tried this workaround today - not ideal, but better than closing and opening. After a game, rather than hitting new game, hit "Home" then from the game screen, click the home icon. Then you select play live and the game you want.
I got exactly the same problem. A search for Supergrandmaster00 on google brought me here. He will be world famous son. The chosen one just like Neo in The Matrix. LOL
Hey Guys! Sorry for this :D. I tried to produce the issue on my devices but it didn't happen to me in the new version 2.6.14, that is on its WAY to the appstore. Hopefully should hit the store by the end of this week. Please let me know if you can produce in the new version.
By the way, this user was just a hard coded value in the interface files that gets set to the original opponent's username. Only God knows what iOS 6 did to let the app kinda side step the code where I am setting the value to the correct username :D. Anyway, new version should fix this.
iOS 6 upgraded last week an since then, after every game the c.c app challenges him to a 20| 0 game. I'm so curious how this bug picked him out of the "nearly" 6 million members?
Have any of you with the iPad app played him yet? He's thinking "holy crap, why is the world challenging me since last week?" Lol
p.s. please fix this soon. I have to manually close and reopen the app after every game.
