I have become a gold member and I want to use the auto-vacation protection.Does I have to change the settings or is it always active when you become a premium member or renew your subscription?

Always active.

Invoked "between 90 and 30 minutes" before timeout. By this you can infer that if you are playing too many games and leave without playing a game with less than 30 minutes of time left the system may not turn on vacation.

It is automatic if you are a paying member. That's what they call perks of membership!!!!!!!!!!

By my it paused my games by 40 minutes, only 1day/move games going on! so you still have to move those! Je moet wel de 1 zet/move games blijven spelen, anders verlies je op tijd! schaak-Groeten, Paul

Actually, it's the games in non-vacation tournaments that you still have to move in. Probably your 1-day games are in such a tournament. Otherwise, they would stop too.
