If that were the truth about what happened, I could understand you being upset. But I assure you that was definitely NOT the case. I have remained in contact with Kohai to this day, and we are friendly. I will not publicly discuss the reasons why someone is no longer with us, but I can assure you that a medical condition is NOT the reason. We have many people on staff who have medical issues, and frankly, that is one of the reasons they work with us - that we are tolerant of their special needs and conditions. I did the best I could in this situation, and did, in fact, pay her for several months after. Running a business is hard. It's more sadness than joy, most of the time, as you are choosing often between two difficult and bad decisions. Anyway, I can understand why someone would be upset if they thought we fired someone for being sick - but that is definitely, definitely not true. We worked around Kohai's medical issues for a long, long time and were happy to do so, just like we do with many other staff members who have or are dealing with special circumstances.
Then I owe you an apology. Please delete the original thread.
