live chess: how many games at one time?

how many games do you play at one time when you're playing live chess on chess.com?

i usually just play one game at a time but if my opponent is slow, has disconnected for whatever reason, or i get bored i'll fire up a second game. i usually never play more than two at a time though.

how about you?

EDITED DUE TO MY STUPIDITY.

Did You set options in the Setting as needed for it?

I've not a Premium account and don't see option named as

Multiply Games in one Time

or with another name(s).

not quite sure what you're asking here (or what you might be suggesting my problem/issue is seeing as i don't have one).

there may be a setting to allow you to play multiple games at once. i honestly don't remember if i had to click something or not. if i have it's been a while since then.

it may be the case that you have to be a paying member to play more than one game in live chess. i am not sure about that either.

I try as he might, could not find Play Tab in the Settings.

Maybe, it is possible for Premium accounts only.

"i sometimes look at the numbers and pretty much all the time there are easily more than double the people than games being played which means many are playing more than one game."

A game is played by two people, so if there are twice as many people online as games being played, everyone is just playing one game at a time. If there are more than twice as many people online, then there are people that aren't playing games.

Yeah I wasn't sure of the soundness of his maths. It just means there are people looking for games, recently finished a game etc.

At the moment there are 12k users, less than 4k games, so instead of it meaning that there are loads of people playing multiple games, there are 4k who are in live chess but don't currently have a game.

EDIT: i did not consider that people could be logged in and not playing. i guess i assumed that they wouldn't be counted.

Yeah, if there are more than double, I can't see how you would take it as people playing multiple games.

If there are less than double players to games, then people are playing multiple.

Let's not focus on grammar or someone will pick up on me saying less when I meant fewer!

trigs

you're right. i'm wrong. my bad. still would be nice if anyone answered the original question though.

Elubas

Haha, yeah, I guess that would mean some of the games being played would involve more than two players.
