Mobile app no good

Hey guys, your mobile app needs rework! Opponent's clock that does not trigger after the move is just so annoying. You should definitely consider a more sophisticated time management protocol than just server side referential. See playchess.com - they have a nice example. Good luck! Michal

Thank you for your report! This is lag compensation and opponent's clock is supposed to start roughly at the moment the opponent can see the move you just played. Or is there something more you have noticed?

This is exactly what I mean. This protocol is not at all well suited for mobile app (or any chess app if you think it over) - why should I loose time because my opponent has crappy web access or because I'm using mobile connection? Opponent's clock should be triggered at the very moment when I make my move and then my current clock value should be sent to my opponent to readjust his display. This way nobody will loose time if a lag occurs. The worst that can happen is that we both get some extra thinking time that equals total move transmission time. We can discuss it in priv if you wish.

Latest update from yesterday forces the rating to 1200 when trying to create on offer - and not starting from your current rating anymore.

This way sending an offer does not make any sense, since you get opponents way below your own rating - not much fun for nobody.

This renders the whole app useless in my eyes - can you revert back to the prior status?

I think chess.com and these companies that sell mobile devices should get their tech departments together. It would benefit both parties. All chess.com would have to do is when the apps work allow the companies to sell their devices at chess.com amd they get a small commission for each device sold. All 3 parties are happy.

Come on guys... who expects to play blitz chess on a cell phone???

Don't you cell phone users realize how  S-L-O-W  your connection is?

This is the home of Chess Addicts they will play on a raft out in the middle of the ocean and not even think about trying to leave till the game is finished. These are the same players if they were on a plane the Jackers would not dare interupt them in a middle of a game.

Michal: please note you don't lose time because of your opponent's bad connection. Also, you don't lose time because of YOUR bad connection either (unless it is more than 2 seconds lag).

Hello, @Arrakis09, @royalbishop, it's not about playing chess in some crazy conditions, it's about making reliable software. If you have a mobile app it is meant to be used on MOBILE devices. We should all to help chess.com guys out. Another case: made my move, waiting for the opponent to respond and the next thing I see is that I lost on time, while my clock is still at 30s.
