It's a show much like any other, I enjoy the character designs, plot, etc and that's why I watch it. People watch it much like they watch any other show, it brings something to their life and they enjoy that something.
That is also my way of coining bronyism. Brony is a non-gender term for someone who watches MLP that isn't in the target audience.

I knew this kid named Ant. Smoked weed and drank tequila straight from the bottle everyday. Guy was a miserable wreck. I moved out of town and then a few years later came back to visit. He was very happy and even had started doing some things with his life. I was very happy for him and asked him what had changed. That's when he told me he was a brony. Now I personally don't understand the craze but if it made him happy I suppose brony isn't such a bad thing. I know this is an old necroed thread but I wanted to share the anecdote anyway.
I've heard similar stories, and it really makes me happy that such positivity can come from it. I've never been able to seize on anything like that, though. I tried, but then I fell back into my phase where I realized candy-colored horses weren't making life feel any less hollow. But my life has been pretty consistently like that.
But again, a lot fo good has come from it and I'm happy for everyone involved. And, it's a good show overall. It's not the best show ever like a lot of bronies say, but it's also not a bad show like a lot of the "lol manchildren" types say.

Hello all fans of My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic! I'm sure there are some of you out there in the chess community and I really hope you'll post in this megathread loads of opinions on your personal thoughts about MLP. And maybe, we can get some images or something like that in here too!
