Firefox or Chrome?

Sort:

I am currently in a quandry because I can't decide which web browser to use. If I should use Firefox or Chrome. They both have so many good features but neither of them support security. Can someone help me on deciding on which on to use?

Definitely go for Chrome. For me, I like the idea of the URL box (sorry for lack of technical terms) being the same thing as a google search box.

Maybe I just have a problem remembering URLs! Embarassed

Try firefox 4 and the decision will be made for you. Smile

That's what I'm currently using. I use both but which one is better and why?

Chrome is definitely faster than Firefox and I have never had difficulty with security.

The decision gets made for you.

Chrome- no doubt about it.

Definitely not. Firefox is way too slow.

On macs, I prefer Chrome.

On a PC, I prefer Internet Explorer.

Both are faster than firefox.

Thanks for all your help everyone! I have chosen Chrome!

And you've made the right choice.

Absolutely not true. My internet explorer is so slow it can barely post a comment on Chess.com in under a minute while my firefox (which im using right now) does it in a flash.

On Windows, the results are quite tight, especially between Chrome and Edge . This is hardly surprising since both browsers are based on the same open-source browser project, Chromium .

While the tests seem to show a slight lead for Chrome , Mozilla's Firefox browser finished last in four out of five tests, with scores well below those of Chrome and Edge .

Even with Kraken 1.1, Mozilla's benchmark (lowest score is best), Firefox falls behind last, well behind web browsers from Google and Microsoft.

I care about privacy and security far more than mere performance. I don't use either Google Chrome or Edge. I use a number of other browsers - Firefox (although Firefox has become a little squirrely lately regarding censorship), Librewolf, Vivaldi, and sometimes the Tor browser. Haven't tried Brave yet, but I might in the near future.
