NSCF Tourneys

Question: Why doesn't the NSCF hold tournaments during the summer months? I was interested to partake in at least a few tournaments while I had the time, but the calendar saud the next one is in November. Is this due to most people going away on vacation?

I have done one tournament in my life. I was forced to compete in "booster" due to my lack of a rating. At the time, I assumed my rating was ~1000, but after three wins and a draw, I got a rating of 734. I was trying to get my rating to a higher level after my long break from tournament play before life got busy again (sigh, September!), but there aren't any tournaments!
