Pieces don't load, while "waiting for platform.twitter.com"

Why is it waiting for platform.twitter.com? (this is the message in the bottom left hand corner of Firefox... more commonly associated with loading things from "optimizely")

What has Twitter to do with Chess.com? The only social network integration I have here is that I allowed Chess.com to sync contacts from Facebook, since it seemed very keen on doing so and it seemed the only way to get rid of the annoying big banner at the time asking me to do so.

But Twitter? It caused pieces to fail to load in one of my games for five minutes or so.

I bet it's just lag. I don't know what twitter has to do with chess.com but I'm pretty sure that it's a fixable problem.

Five minutes to load a chess position?

"Lag"?

Yeah, david. Adblock gets rid of all that rubbish, optimizely, twitter. facebook, google analutics.....

Without adblock this site is almost unusable for me.

Thanks, I've added those now; that is an improvement :)

For some reason, I have not been able to use the analyse function with Safari lately.  It works fine with Firefox.  Who knows what is gong on with all this internet/high tech stuff!  Certainly not a senior citizen such as myself!!  It's all I can do to remember en passant.

Mike, I actually had top stop using Safari and switch to Firefox for that reason. The analysis board and openings explorer were unusable in Safari, and it often took three attempts to move a piece (since the page would refresh when I tried to move something).

For the last few weeks I go to load my online game where it is my turn and the page load is slow, waiting for something.  I notice my browser says it is waiting for "platform.twitter.com".  I am not a web programmer, but I hope page loads are not be slowed down due to a seemingly unimportant feature like the post to twitter badge.  I don't think that feature is useful personally.

thanks.

Sometimes technology tries to do to much.  And sometimes updates and improvements are not really improvements at all.
