GM Nigel Davies - Chess Mentor Course & Vote Chess

Submitted by erik on Mon, 03/03/2008 at 11:23am.

Chess.com is lucky today! We are fortunate to have GM Nigel Davies with us in two amazing new roles!

First off, GM Davies has created a new Chess Mentor course on Understanding the Colle-Zukertort which is an aggressive opening with deadly intentions on the Kingside! He will show you how Grandmasters use the Colle System with excellent results. (There is also an additional collection of Colle games for download here!) Go check it out!

Secondly, GM Davies is going to be playing everyone at Chess.com in a Vote Chess game!!!! That's right - every member of Chess.com gets a chance to vote and try and beat one of the world's top players. Click here to go register for the game starting next week! The rules are that there will be up to 3 days per side for the moves (and perhaps a little more for GM Davies if needed as he is doing this while also playing in many chess events!). That should give everyone plenty of time to discuss and make the best possible moves!

So go enjoy this new Chess Mentor course and the chance to play against a top player in Vote Chess!

Thank you GM Nigel Davies!!

P.S. Here is a quick sneak-preview of the Colle-Zukertort!

I wish it had some annotation. I disagreed with some of black's moves and wonder why he did what he did.  How come 19...h6 and not 19...g6  ?  And then how come after 20. Bh7+ black plays 20...kh8 and not 20...kf8, saving the pawn and preventing the fork?

Welcome Nigel. We have not met, though we have been in recent chess events in England, namely the Bury and Stockport Rapidplays.
