Chess.com University is back and I am back with it! One of the main areas I will be covering in this grand reopening of the university is Pawn Structures. I am starting off with backward pawns for the first two-week course that I am offering. I hope everyone will enjoy this and we will offer more and more courses from several good instructors!

Course details :
Tactics and calculation are very important part of ones chess reportaire, but it can only take you upto a point. What happens when you reach a level in chess where your opponents are not making tactical mistakes? Thats right! you need to grind out a win from a seemingly equal position with a tiny tiny weakness in your opponents camp that you invariably used to ignore before. As Philidor once mentioned "Pawns are the soul of chess!", it is the pawn structure that will help you cross the barrier and take you to the next level in chess. In this class students will learn in depth on how to identify weak backward pawns, maintain and build pressure on them and execute simple plans to sustain a long term advantage.
