Epic comeback

No, this is just me playing chess.

I might be teaching French for the first time second semester, but I sure as guacamole won't be playing the French in my upcoming tournament.

Unlike when I was a debutante at the Primrose Hotel 23 years ago, I've learned a thing or two about this game.  And I won't be listening to advice about openings, or about women, from Lev Psakhis.

Here's a little preview I'd like to call "old birds don't fly":

Reality check for my comeback.  Checking the registration list, with a CFC area code of 127, I'm clearly an old bird going back to an empty nest of chess friends (maybe except for the arbiter).  As 21st seed of 95 so far (still 2nd of 25 in my section) this will be no test of survival but a date with destiny. 

I'll be flying in to T.O., cleared to land in U1900 - no rockets!  Who else will be playing in the Hart House Reading Week Open?  Alex L.
