Hello, dear chess.com fans!

Probably it is hard to believe, but sometimes chess.com pushes its community members to meet in real life.

Established in 2008, Team Ukraine has already experienced two meetings of community members.

It seems a good idea if team mates who won together hundreds of matches could finally shake hands to each other!

The first one happened last year, where Team Ukraine participated in Business Chess League.

My friend @UAArtur Artur Sevosteenko wrote an excellent blogpost about the event:

Team Ukraine Becomes a Real Team!

The second event called Team Ukraine Chess BBQ-2019 happened yesterday in Kyiv,

(National Expo Center of Ukraine)

Main occasion for event was start of Season 4

Live Chess World League

Sergey Shchukhomet @shchukhomet – good chess player, great grill master!

@romakif is going to make a winning move Ne4+!

  • Friendly Match Team Ukraine – Philippine United Live:

Despite not stable connect, 4 players decided to play in Live Match via mobiles

during BBQ

Team Ukraine lost heavily, but we gained some valuable experience.

If you don`t have 4G or LTE, for Live Matches it`s better using internet browser to chess.com rather than mobile app.

In this way, I managed to win the first game

The second game was funny. First, my opponent in better position blundered a Queen promotion.

Then I blundered that newborn Queen. Finally, the game ended with…Draw!

Playing Live Chess after 6 hours of drinking beer is not easy….but enjoyable!

I wish all of you guys to meet some of your chess.com friends and team mates in real life.

After Chess BBQ-2019, Team Ukraine decides to make this event regular (at least – annual!)

Best regards, Alexander
