Daily Calculation exercises - Day 16 | Attack with the exchange variation in the Caro-Kann defense
I share 5 exercises which I created from the game I played against the Greek young talent Antonios Gkavardinas in the 7th round of the International Master Tourney in Budapest.
He sacrificed a pawn with d5-d4. I captured it. How should he continue?
How should black react to white's attack?
What is the best move for Black?
How should white reach to d5-d4?
Black played Qe7, How can white fight for the initiative?
I wish you enjoyed the exercises. Please use the patterns in your games!
I use and recommend these courses. Please check them. They may help you to go to the next level in your chess.

In this game I played the Exchange Variation of the Caro-Kann Defense.
I replied with the Exchange Variation against his Caro-Kann defense. I started to build up an attack against his king, but I let block the position with h7-h5. That was a mistake, because I had no way to break and actually my attacking idea of f4,g4,h5 was just weakening my king. He did not realize this, but He could create a strong attack on the other side with b4 or d4. I managed to make a King journey to the other side from g1 to b2 to save my king. In the endgame I took the risk and sacrificed a pawn, which nearly backfired, but he missed his chance and we exchanged everything to settle the game:
