Daily Calculation exercises - Day 10 | Victory in the Rossolimo Sicilian

I bring you 10 exercises which I created from the game I played in the 1st round of the International Master Tournament in Budapest. The opponent was an Indian talent Kshatriya, Nitin Vekhande.

He just pushed the d-pawn. What should I do?

In this line white could fork the queen and the rook. How should black deal with it?

How Can black win?

Black has a big material advantage. What is a simple way to win?

How to recapture on c3?

How can black win material?

How can black increase the advantage?

White attacked the knight with b2-b4. How should he react?

He just centralized the knight by Nd4. How should black continue?

I wish you enjoyed the exercises. Please use the patterns in your games!

I use and recommend these courses. Please check them. They may help you to go to the next level in your chess.

He played the Bb5 Rossolimo variation of the Sicilian defense. I used the Chessmood RossoIimo course to get a good position of the opening and understand the middlegame plans. I decided to play on the dark squares by developing the bishop to g7. I got the pair of bishops and double d-pawns in the middlegame. After he weakened the c3 square I was able to increase the pressure until he allowed me a combination to win the exchange and win the game in the endgame:

I went to run in the morning to have a fresh mind.

In the morning I had a coaching session with a student we met long time ago, like 8-9 years.

He wants to improve in blitz games.

I think the 2 most important things you can do to improve your blitz are:

1.Solve daily puzzles to speed up and to use your winning chance

2.Study your openings with plans to save time.

I was the coach of the month and you can read an interview about it at https://www.chess.com/article/view/coach-of-the-month-im-attila-turzo

I am available for chess lessons.

If you would like to study with me please send me an email to attilaturzo@gmail.com where you write about your chess history and chess goals.

See you tomorrow!
